Print Machine Minder - Birmingham
Our client is a leading Print & Direct Mail company.
As a Machine Operator you will be required to:
Help increase mailing turnaround times and improve our KPI for “‘% of mailings sent on time”
To ensure that you are adhering to company procedures i.e.: quality checks on each job and ensuring that the relevant paperwork relates to each job and understanding the implications behind these.
You will need to liaise with the Production Manager & co-machine operators to ensure requirements and daily production goals are achieved and generally helping out with the smooth running of the production department, wherever reasonably required.
Control and maintain sequence order and manage mail sortation requirements.
To consistently maintain a high standard of work, keen eye for detail and quality conscious and promote and maintain clean and safe working environment.
To monitor and manage assistants ensuring the integrity of the job is not compromised. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organisational skills.
Ability to work well under pressure.
To be proactive, responsible, professional and confident manner at all times and to demonstrate integrity towards colleagues, suppliers and customers.
You will need to be “hands on” with each department and be able to operate a variety of our mailing machine’s to maximize machine output and maintain highest levels of mailing quality.
Experience in the following machinery would be beneficial:
• Laminator • MBO Folders • Guillotine • Creaser • Polywrap ( Norpak /Sitma etc. ) • Enclosing machine ( Kern / Bhurs etc. ) • Camera matching (Lake Camera Matching System) • Inkjetters (AMS; AJ 3800 ) • MBO Folders • Printers ( M1 Printer; Ricoh; Konica Minolta, Nuvera)
Hours of work For the time being it will be 8 – 4.30 pm Monday – Friday, (however you will be required to work additional hours overtime subject to high production workload & pressure “on time” dispatch dates.) Once they have hired all the staff that they need the new candidate will need to work on a shift pattern.
Report to You will report directly to the Production manager ( in the absence of the production manager you will report to the Operations director ) and you will be working with the production team, you will be required to help across all ‘departments‘ i.e.: IT / Data services, hand fulfillment, Mailing Machines etc. - you will need to ensure that all work is carried out to the highest standard, carrying out your work correctly, (according to the Job Card / making all machines run at the correct speeds with high levels of accuracy).
Salary / Hours £18,000 - £20,000 basic salary (DOE) for 42.5 hours work 24 days holiday Bank Holidays any Xmas shut down.
